Emily Luchetti is the Chief Pastry Officer at Cavalier, Park Tavern and Marlowe Restaurants in San Francisco.

She began her culinary career on the savory side of the kitchen in New York City after attending The New York Restaurant School. A move to San Francisco allowed her to join the opening team at Jeremiah Tower’s Stars Restaurant. After three years on the line she switched to the sweet side of the kitchen and has never looked back. She was the pastry chef at Stars for seven years and also co-owned the retail bakery StarBake with Tower. She was Executive Pastry Chef at Farallon and Waterbar Restaurants from 1997-2014.

The petite powerhouse is the author of 6 dessert cookbooks including Stars Desserts, A Passion for Ice Cream and The Fearless Baker. She is the co-author of So Who’s Counting?: The Little Quote Book About Growing Older and Still Kicking Ass.

Luchetti’s honors include the 2004 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef and induction into the James Beard Foundation Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America in 2012. She is Chair Emeritus of the James Beard Foundation board of trustees and currently sits on their board. She is a Dean at the International Culinary Center and a Sister of the Planet for Oxfam.

She is the founder of dessertworthy a movement for people to be mindful of their dessert indulgences.
